LGBTQI+ PERFORMANCE
Theatre North is a professional touring company currently based in Barcelona and London which has mounted more than 30 productions which have toured nationally and internationally. The company has specialised in work with a gay sub text – both for gay and straight audiences – producing NAKED HOMO, BILLY BUDD SAILOR, winner of Star of the Brighton Festival, HANDEL’S CROSS, MIRANDO THE GAY TEMPEST and QUEER BODIES. We have close relationships with Birkbeck, University of London and the Institute of the Arts Barcelona. SCREAM QUEER MURDER! was premiered at the International Agatha Christie Festival in September 2019. In May 2021 CIRCLES OF HELL was performed in association with Museums de Sitges and live-streamed by Birkbeck. SCREAM QUEER MURDER was performed at the Kings Head Theatre in Islington August 1 – 12 2023 MY QUEER BODY was performed at Lyon University2 in May 2025 and The Retiro Barcelona in October 2025
